At Thyme & Thistle Apothecary, handmade herbal skincare is part of a bigger story: a mother and daughter building a small business together, one idea, one ingredient and one little jar at a time.
Our journey often begins around the kitchen table, surrounded by jars, labels, notebooks and a mug of something warm. It’s where we discuss ideas, explore ingredients and work on the products that eventually find their way into our collection.
We started Thyme & Thistle because we enjoy the process of creating things by hand. There’s something satisfying about unpacking a new delivery of ingredients, measuring everything carefully, exploring different textures and scents, and watching an idea become a finished product.
It’s not always glamorous, but it’s ours — and that’s what makes it special.

Creating products involves more than combining ingredients and choosing a pretty label. We enjoy learning what each ingredient contributes to a formulation, from the texture of a balm to the feel of a cream or the aroma of a botanical blend.
Some ideas develop into products we’re excited to share. Others need more work, a different approach or a little more research.
As a mother-daughter team, we bring our own perspectives to the process. We talk things through, learn together and take care with the details, whether we’re developing a product, preparing packaging or updating our website.

Each has its own character and flavour, from chamomile’s delicate floral notes to peppermint’s refreshing taste and lemon balm’s gentle citrus aroma.

Why We’re Interested in Ingredients
We know that herbal and natural products aren’t for everyone, and that’s completely fine.
We’re not here to suggest that natural ingredients are automatically better for every person or that a botanical product can solve every skincare concern. What interests us is the process of learning about ingredients, understanding their role in a formulation and creating products we enjoy making.
Natural ingredients can still cause sensitivities, and individual preferences differ. That’s why clear ingredient lists and honest product descriptions matter to us.
